A Weekend Yoga Retreat in Oxfordshire

Letting Go

8th - 10th October 2010

LAST FEW SPACES

Letting go

Like the leaves falling from the Autumn trees for us the season is a time to let go, a time to release everything that no longer serves us into the earth.

In the mornings we will work on asana (postures), pranayama (breath) and meditation. Focussing specifically on how the breath helps us in this process of release.

To emphasise the spirit of letting go, in the afternoons we will take time out to unwind. This gives us time to explore creativity in expert led art workshops or to go for a long walk in the surrounding hills and forests or maybe just put your feet up in front of an open fire with a good book.

I will also be available for short one-to-one sessions during the free time to allow for individual attention on your own issues in practice and posture.

We will have a bonfire on the Saturday night in celebration of the season

This style of yoga practice is both supportive and challenging for practitioners of all levels and ability.

Participants will be encouraged to connect with their own needs during the weekend, taking any time out they need and going at their own pace.

Braziers Park is a community, a residential college and an architectural treasure hidden deep in the south Oxfordshire countryside.

Spring retreat 2010

Thanks again for a wonderful weekend. Mike and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The yoga was brilliant, well thought out and delivered with sensitivity, skill, and fun. Mike had his eyes opened and his body! Gloria

 Spring Retreat 2010

If we want to open up towards the light of Spring we need to send our roots first deep into the ground. In this weekend we will make the journey from the earth and up towards the sky through the body. We will pay particular attention to the feet and to the concept of rooting or grounding wherever we rest on the earth. This allows gravity to ground us and frees up the upper body.

We will use asana (postures) , partner work, meditation and breathing practices to facilitate both a deeper body awareness and a seasonal connection. Honouring the seasonal connection has a profound effect on our sense of connectedness both to the rhythms of the planet and deep within ourselves.

This style of practice makes it both supportive and challenging for practitioners of all levels and ability.

Participants will be encouraged to connect with their own needs during the weekend, taking any time out they need and going at their own pace.
